18-year old BCD activist Iryna Hubkaya was expelled from Sakharov International State Ecological University on March 26.

Iryna Hubsaya is a candidate for a seat in the Minsk city local council. As the press service of the Belarusian Christian Democracy reports, Hubskaya was a second year student of the Environment Monitoring Faculty.

An official reason for expulsion was absence from classes. However, Iryna Hubskaya claims the expulsion is connected with her political activity and the fact she runs in the elections. According to Hubskaya, she faced problems at university after she had been nominated as candidate for deputy.

As the activist noted, students who have more absences from class, but who are not engaged in political activity, are not expelled from university.
